Slides 1968-1974

A while back, I came across a pile of cool junk that someone discarded. In the pile of junk was a couple of trays containing slides. I've gone through them and scanned the most interesting ones for your enjoyment!

The period of the slides ranges from 1968-1974. The styles of this period are always interesting to look at.



I believe this slide was a sample that came free when you bought a slide projector. The color of the picture was very red, since red is the last colour that disappears from deteriorating plastic film. Thanks to digital photo editing, I was able to restore the colour in this picture. I'm guessing it's from the mid-60s.

Now I'm going to shut up and let you look at some pictures. Some of them may be backwards.

Abandoned Photo Shoot Outtakes

About four years ago, I came across multiple file storage boxes sitting in the back lane, waiting to be picked up by the trash man. Curiosity got to me and I had to see what was in these boxes. I opened one, pulled out an envelope, and discovered that it contained film negatives and proofs.

The boxes belonged to a photo studio, and each envelope contained each client's name, contact info, and some of them even had their credit card numbers on them. I thought it was extremely bizarre that the owner of this now defunct studio just threw these people's personal information and photos into the trash as opposed to shredding them.

There were about 15 boxes in total, but I decided to grab only two of them (perhaps I should have grabbed all of them!) I went through hundreds of photos, selecting only those that I thought were the most interesting. Now let me tell you, trying to decipher an interesting photo from a negative is quite the challenge. If I couldn't figure out what the hell it was, I scanned it anyway and reversed the polarity to see it more clearly. Lots of the pictures were boring, but there were quite a few interesting one in there!

I've been putting off posting these long enough, and I'm finally going to show you the most interesting ones. I still have more to go through, so that will make a nice rainy day project. Here's what I've got for now... Enjoy!

I can't believe it took me four years to get those up. It just goes to show how much shit I've got kicking around that I intend on posting.

Found: Unusual Photo Album

While I was at a church garage sale last weekend, I came across a pile of books. Included in the pile was a photo album. Now, every time I see a photo album at a thrift store or yard sale, I check to see if anyone has left their photos inside.



A-ha! But wait... At my first glance, I noticed there was something VERY unusual about these photos. I quickly closed it, and after browsing some other items, I took it to the counter so I could purchase it. The lady at the counter didn't see a price on the album, so she started opening the cover, trying to find a price. I was thinking "PLEASE don't see the pictures!!!" If she would have found them and removed them, this would be a no-sale.

After finding nothing, she quoted me a price of two dollars. I gave my uninterested 'yucky price' face, and she said "okay, how about a dollar?" Happily, I gave her one dollar for the photo album.

After getting into the truck, I examined the photos. Here's what I got...













Judging from the two pictures that were taken from the deck of a boat, it appears that this was some sort of gay cruise. Not something you expect to find at a church garage sale.
